“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller
Hello world. So I'm almost half way to North Carolina. We're making pretty good timing I think. Definitely making better time than the predicted 12 hours and 45 minutes. Danielle took the first driving shift, now Christina is up and around 1am I'll be taking the wheel for the final stretch. This trip has already been so wonderful so far.
There's nothing like good music and good conversations to make a road trip enjoyable. Honestly, as the quote explains, Im mostly enjoying the road and bonding with my girl friends. Sure, I've never been to North Carolina so I'm excited for that, but in the end it's the time I'm spending with these lovely ladies that I'll cherish most. It's the journey, not the destination, that stays with you forever. The destination I seek here is a place of marvelous sights and sceneries, and a place of happy memories and good times.
Having grown up in Miami and never having really seen the mountain scenery that my beautiful USA has to offer, I feel this trip will give me a new perspective on life. Nature has a way of awakening parts of your soul that are dormant when you are only surrounded by familiar lands your entire life.
Well I'm going back to copiloting. I'll be back when I reach NC.
