“Life is a process of becoming. A combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.” ~Anais Nin
Life is like a roller coaster. It takes you in so many different directions, has some really scary moments, but it's always ok in the end. You get off the ride, and realize you want to go for another ride.
If you want to be happy in life, you must learn to appreciate the constant change, for as the saying goes, the only constant in life is change. It's just inevitable. By choosing to hold on to a certain feeling, time period or person, you're robbing yourself of so many possibilities. By clinging to one thing, you wind up up missing out on the beauty of life. The beauty of life is that we can feel so many things, and a lot of times as life moves forward, you learn to feel new amazing things that you've never felt before. Growth is not only physical nor is it only mental. Growth takes place in the heart and soul as well. By standing still, not trying new things, you're putting that growth to a halt.
It saddens me to see people not enjoying the natural flow of life. Like the above quote states, life is a process of becoming. You need to go through all sorts of different experiences to fully enjoy the many different mental states a person can be in. For instance, being in a state of such passion that you lose all control. Or being in a state of happiness, but the kind of happiness that comes from being successful. There's so many different states of happiness you can be in, but you'll never know if you don't dare to live. I mean really, really live. The only thing that can hold you back from living is yourself, and by yourself I mean myself too. I know there's a lot more out there waiting for me, I just need to stick to the process. Go with the flow.
